When talking about wood, most people believe that cutting trees is always bad, but there is a significant difference between deforestation and [sustainable logging](https://blog.minelligroup.com/wood-manufacturing/responsible-cutting-of-trees-benefits). In a responsibly managed forest, for every tree harvested, another one replaces it, ensuring that there are no negative consequences on the soil or trees.

What does this mean?

In the past, wooden caps have needed an internal plastic threaded capsule to ensure perfect closing. Now, this plastic part and the associated glue for it can be definitively eliminated, resulting in a completely sustainable object.

However, not all threaded caps are equal.

In this way, it will maintain its functionality over time while protecting the product from contamination and leakage.

Standard threads, on the contrary, start tangentially to the edge of the cap and then rise progressively until they reach their maximum section height. Since wood is a “soft” material, such structure is subjected to wear over time, losing its smooth hermetic closure.

You must ensure that your supplier:

- has a deep **knowledge of wood** and its typical tolerances
- uses the most **innovative tools** and CNC (computer numerical control) machines
- performs both manual and automatic quality control during production, using the newest [3D metrology technology](https://blog.minelligroup.com/wood-manufacturing/wood-manufacturing-obtain-maximum-precision)
- has special drying chambers to ensure the **right degree of dryness** of wood before production
- uses only **FSC-certified** raw material
